This summer sunflowers will be cultivated along Hwy. 491 through such stops along the road as Yellowjacket, Cahone and Dovecreek, just a few miles from the Colorado/ Utah border. The dry land amongst the feed elevators dotting the highway for many years has produced beans, with no need of irrigation, but now the fields are blooming yellow with hopes of profits in products like sunflower oil and even biodiesel.
Well I've never been to Colorado/Utah but fields of yellow sunflowers remind me of France and summer. Lovely picture.
